Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her first appearances on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors and directors on stage and screen for her entire career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford, who will appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role in the role of Essie. Additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and born in Denver is now based in Los Angeles and New York.
